Waynetown, Jan. 13 -- This morning about six o'clock Silas K. Hendricks fell dead on the back porch of his residence in this place.  He has been ailing for some time and the cause of his demise was heart failure.  He was over seventy-eight years of age and for twenty-five years had been a resident of the town.  Prior to that he lived on a farm near here.  Besides a wife, be leaves a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Westfall, a grandson, Hendricks Westfall, and a great grandson. He was a member of the Baptist Church. - kbz

Will Occur at Waynetown on Sunday Morning - The Story of His Life Waynetown, Ind., Jan. 14 -- Sunday morning at eleven o'clock at the Baptist church here will occur the funeral services for Silas K. Hendricks, who dropped dead at his home on Orchard street Friday morning.  Mr. Hendricks was born in Morgan county, this state.  January 6, 1837, and was past 74 years of age.  About 50 years ago he moved to this county, settling on a farm about three miles north of town.  Thirty years ago he moved from his farm to town, where he has since resided.  In November of 1859, he was married to Sarah E. Stout, celebrating their fiftieth anniversary in 1909. To this marriage there were born five children, May, Homer, Clara, Pearl, and Myrtle, all of whom are dead except May, the wife of C. C. Westfall. Mr. Hendricks was the last member of a large family.  He leaves a wife, a daughter and husband, grandson, Hendricks and wife, and one great-granddaughter, to morn his departure.  He joined the Baptist Church in Morgan county when a boy, moving his membership to the church here.  The pastor, Rev. W. H. Beach, of Danville, Ill., will deliver the discourse. Interment in the Masonic Cemetery west of town. - kbz
